Just abit about the Seldom Seen Project-

The Seldom Seen project began with a ‘speed-dating’ session to match six artist-mentors with six artspaces. Then we added plenty of local practising artists, a great ‘concept’ and a tight deadline. The result is a fabulous, slightly competitive, but fun, trail of artworks. Some of this art is serious. some frivolous. some ephemeral. some challenging. some have been major, major undertakings.

All venues are open for the 4-day weekend, but each one also has its moment ‘in the sun’. Most are free. The line-up now looks like this:


Fri 30 Oct. 6.30PM: Buchan: @ the Black Marble Hut: Buchan Mega Fauna & Distinguished Heroic Ladies & an Extraordinary Video Installation. Mentors & Artists: Dore Stockhausen, Marcus Foley, Michael Woodburn, Evelyn Schmidt.

Sat 31 Oct. 9AM: Bairnsdale: Seldom Seen Art Walk along the Mitchell River with brekkie at the East Gippsland Art Gallery. Mentors & Artists: Jenny Toye, Heather Oak. Sue Patton. Tony Power. Phillip Capadonna. Rosemary Hepworth.
